Consultation
Consultation is a particularly important element of our decision-making, helping us shape the investments we make for the industry. We work closely with all dairy industry participants to ensure that our activities and investments will make dairy farming more profitable and sustainable in the future.
Consultation takes a wide range of forms from surveys like the Dairy Farmers Survey to meetings and informal feedback from phone calls. All of this information is used by DairyNZ to gauge farmers preference for investments and to ensure our investments are in line with farmers’ expectations and priorities.
There are opportunities for farmers to influence the directions of DairyNZ investments through our Board, which is populated by farmers and elected by farmers. Farmers also have opportunities to comment through direct contact with Investment Managers and other DairyNZ staff.
Our staff are frequently in the regions visiting farms and consulting with farmers. Our 0800 number, website, Annual General Meeting (AGM) and more formal consultation rounds all provide additional opportunities for discussion and feedback.
