Key accomplishments
- Industry: Member of the National Mastitis Advisory Committee and the technical group responsible for annual updates of the SAMM plan; key organiser of scientific programme for the SAMM Milk Quality Conference 2004, 2006, 2008; co-author of the Managing Mastitis Book, published by NMAC and LIC.
- Science: Science leader for a successful Dairy Insight funded five year programme investigating the ecology of S. uberis mastitis (2002-2007) and a six-year FRST funded programme investigating cytokines approaches for mastitis prevention (2001-2007). Science leader for new six year programme to develop new cow selection and vaccination tools for mastitis control.
