Pasture and grazing management – physiology and agronomy; analysis of gene expression in perennial ryegrass.
Key accomplishments
- Science: Acceptance into a PhD programme with the University of Tasmania, in collaboration with DairyNZ and ViaLactia Biosciences. Designed experimental programme (response of perennial ryegrass pastures to defoliation severity) and sought funding/scholarships to subsidise experimental work. Results from the programme to date have been presented to farmers, extension officers and at national and international conferences, as well as published in peer-reviewed science journals.
