Get Fresh
Get Fresh has been developed by DairyNZ’s human capability team as part of its drive to address
critical labour shortages in the dairy industry and is aimed at young people, aged between 15-18, who are still undecided about what to do when they leave school.
Launched in March 2008, phase one of Get Fresh focused on attracting youth to on-farm careers. Phase two of the Get Fresh campaign promotes the wide range of opportunities open to people in the agribusiness sector. These support industries, such as science, vet and consultancy are highlighted in TV commercials, the updated website and new campaign collateral.
Get Fresh’s task is to drive young people to the campaign website and draw them into the potential that the industry offers. It talks to youth in their language, making it fun and using the mediums they are hooked into to get its message across.
Once again the campaign is primarily web-based but is supported by texting, TV advertising and an internet-based competition.
