Effluent Management Tools

Publication Date: July 2009

The following are some effluent tools which have been developed with the help of farmers all around New Zealand. They are designed to take some of the headache out of training staff and managing your effluent system. You may print these off and use them as templates or copy our design to make your own template which may better suit your farm system. There are six tools:

  • Correct Irrigator Set-up Run Sheet for recording where and when the irrigator was used in different paddocks of your effluent block.  Print one off, and when you have finished that one, file it in your ringbinder and print the next one - you have the basis for your effluent recording system.

  • An Effluent Management Training Schedule, for ensuring you cover all the relevant bases when you train farm staff on the use and management of the effluent system.  When it is completed, signh it off and file it in your recording system.  Remember to review progress during the year.
