Community impact 2008/09

The image of the dairy industry needs to be promoted to enhance public opinion, particularly around issues such as the environment and on-farm working conditions. DairyNZ is working to promote the benefits of the industry to the wider community, educate the public about dairying’s environmental impact and show them the work New Zealand dairy farmers are doing to improve the sustainability of their farm business.

Below is a summary of projects carried out by DairyNZ during the 2008/09 season in the Community Impact area.

To promote and run the Sharemilker of the Year, Farm Manager of the Year and Dairy Trainee of the Year Competitions. International Dairy Federation NZ

The International Dairy Federation (IDF NZ) is the national body within New Zealand responsible for co-ordinating and managing New Zealand dairy industry input and influence on issues relating to the IDF.
