The image of the dairy industry needs to be promoted to enhance public opinion, particularly around issues such as the environment and on-farm working conditions. DairyNZ is working to promote the benefits of the industry to the wider community, educate the public about dairying's environmental impact and show them the work New Zealand dairy farmers are doing to improve the sustainability of their farm business.

The Dairy Exporter Great Farming Guides are designed to deliver
an uncluttered and independent environment for the latest thinking
on key elements of dairy farming best practice. The guides are a
series of quick-reference booklets, published quarterly, that

| IDF project |
The International Dairying Federation (IDF NZ) is the national
body within New Zealand responsible for coordinating and managing
New Zealand dairy industry input and influence on all issues
relating to the IDF. |

DairyNZ supports a number of industry
events such as The South Island Dairy Event (SIDE), Dairy3, the

| New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards |
The aim of the New Zealand Dairy
Industry Awards is to create future leaders for the dairy industry
and provide a career pathway for young people to aspire to. All roles within the New Zealand Dairy Industry are represented, from farm staff to managers, sharemilkers and owners. All farmers, regardless of supply arrangements or industry affiliations are eligible to enter. Currently the Dairy Industry Awards are offered in 12 regions and comprise three categories - Sharemilker of the Year, Farm Manager of the Year and Dairy Trainee of the Year. The awards also aim to showcase the dairy industry to a wider public and better promote the economic benefits generated by the dairy industry for the country. |
