Keep a keen eye on your business
- Monitor the budgets you set by tracking actual spending and income against what you budgeted. Keep on top of working capital up's and down's so you don't get any nasty surprises!
- Keep your records up to date (production, accounts etc) - staying on top of things throughout the year will make end of year accounting a lot easier. Use your DairyBase Level 2 toolkit to collect your physical information as it happens through the season
- Get your DairyBase reports back from your accountant (chase them up if they are not available yet). Use these to reflect on how you sat against benchmarks - is there room for further refinement of your budget for this season?
