Quality Work Environment

The objective of the Quality Work Environment programme is to build productive farm businesses through growing productive people on farm. In order to grow productive people the people management systems must support this goal and promote behaviour at all levels of the business that encourage productive behaviour.

 

 

Expected outcomes of this project

Benefit
Farmers will be able to assess their workplace with respect to good employment practice and are able to assess the potential value of incorporating good employment practices in their own buiness.

Farmer employers and operational managers have appropriate tools available to them to effectively manage their employees in line with good practice.
Farmers have access to resources that will:

  • Inform them of good practice
  • Assist them to implement good practice.
There is professional support available to farmers through rural professionals that can help them to evaluate their practices and manage their employees more effectively.
Product management supports uptake and revision of DairyNZ products thus maximising benefit from farmer investment in the products.
The dairy industry has a measurement framework for human capability to monitor change and effect of investment.
