DairyNZ Nuffield Farming Scholarship 2011/12

The aim of this project is to fund a “Nuffield Scholarship” in 2011/2012.

For 60 years the Nuffield Farming Scholarships has promoted leadership and the implementation of innovative practice in agriculture through worldwide study and interpersonal contact. Successful applicants have the opportunity to develop a better understanding of New Zealand and international relationships through upwards of four months travel.

Scholars participate in a Contemporary Scholars conference with upwards of 60 Nuffield Scholars from around the world. They participate in a 6 weeks Global Focus Program with an organised itinerary through several countries with other scholars. Finally they have their own individual study program researching a topic of interest on which they formally report on at the end of their travels.

Benefit

The aim of the Nuffield Scholarship Programme is to produce future industry Leaders through a full emersion global study program upwards of 4 months.

Increased leadership skills gained by the scholar through the Nuffield experience enables the scholar to make a leadership contribution to the industry in the future.

Information gained around the selected study topics may have a direct influence on future strategic planning by the returning scholar.
