Dairy Women – lifting financial capability of dairy farm businessesDairy Women’s Network, through both informal and formal networks, provides professional development to dairy women. Women in the dairy business have a high involvement in the financial aspects of dairy businesses. DWN will provide 20 unique learning events at different levels to cater for women at different levels of experience – The organised office, Building your farm budget and Farm Finance Essentials. In addition there will be a formalised follow up day in five of these regions to further develop the business/financial capability of the women in the group. Follow up/support in other regions will be less formal. These days will provide support to ensure the learning results in action on farm and there is an increase in the number of farms completing budgets/cashflows and using these to make better business decisions. |
Expected outcomes of this project
Benefit
Through DWN face to face meetings and internet forums dairy women will have the opportunity to attend learning events specifically developed for them. The learning events focussing on Building your farm budget will raise awareness, knowledge and skill in financial planning in the dairy farm business.
Women attending will be supported in their learning by other dairy women and selected industry experts.
These events will raise the awareness in the industry of the significance of business management of NZ dairy farms and allow women to learn from specialists and other women in the industry.
These events will result in more dairy businesses completing budgets/cashflows and consequently more informed decision making on farm.
