New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards

The aim of this project is to:

1. To promote and run the Sharemilker/Equity Farmer of the Year, Farm Manager of the Year and Dairy Trainee of the Year Competitions. The objectives of the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards Trust are to raise awareness and understanding of the value of the New Zealand dairy industry, and of promoting business excellence and careers through progression in the industry as a business option.
   
   The competition’s objectives are:
• To create tomorrow’s leaders for the industry and provide a future for young people to aspire to
• To encourage learning and development of entrants, potential entrants and non entrants with a view to continuous improvement
• To ensure all roles within the NZ dairy industry are represented, from farm staff to managers, sharemilkers and owners. All farmers, regardless of supply arrangements or industry affiliations, are eligible to enter
• To showcase the dairy industry to a wider public and better promote the economic benefits generated by the dairy industry for the country and create interest in dairying as a career opportunity. 
2. Actively working with DairyNZ to promote jointly the association between the two organisations.
