On-farm change through DairyNZ’s regional backboneThe objective of this project is to increase the rate of practice change on farm towards more profitable, sustainable and competitive farm businesses. This objective is in response to three challenges facing DairyNZ:
The regional “backbone” provides a coordinated, focussed and accountable approach through 9 Regional Teams and involves greater emphasis on integration and collaboration with other DairyNZ functions (development and research) and regional adoption partners and stakeholders to achieve impact with farmers. |

| The infrastructure to support farmers to address issues and respond to opportunities exists and is continuously improving. |

| Collective action and leadership results in achievement of industry goals, with greater impact for farmers. |
| Dairy farming has the necessary government, community and regional support to maintain a “license to farm”. |
| Dairy farmers and funders are progressively more confident that DairyNZ programmes and activities are of value and meeting their needs. |
| DairyNZ’s leadership and capability in this area results in more effective investment in programmes with greater impact for farmers. |
