The site contains curriculum-related teaching units, digital texts and digital learning objects, along with up-to-date background information for teachers, all of which use dairying as a context for learning.
Like Rosie the dairy industry Cowbassador, this site has been developed to increase awareness and understanding of the dairy industry.
Rosie's Education has three key criteria: it had to meet an identified gap in the curriculum, it had to be easy to use for the teachers, appealing to the children and to use dairying as the context for learning.
It has been developed by education specialists, is aligned with the New Zealand curriculum and will cover from levels 1 to 8.
Rosie's Education - Find a Farmer service
DairyNZ's Find a Farmer service connects schools with a local farm so they can experience what they've learnt in class through Rosie's Education.
Watch as the children from Fairhaven Primary School, Te Puke, visit Richard and Amy Fowler's farm to learn all about dairying.
The school has been using Rosie's Education resources in the classroom and a field trip to a local dairy farm proved to be a fantastic learning experience to complement and reinforce their classroom work.
Are you keen to host a school visit or visit a school and talk about dairy farming? Register with the Rosie's Education Find a Farmer Service by filling in the form below.
