This year's candidates
The dairy farmers below are standing for election to two positions on DairyNZ’s Board of Directors.
Current farmer-elected directors Alister Body and Jim van der Poel retire by rotation this year, prompting this election.
The board consists of five farmer-elected directors and three board-elected directors.

Our candidates will provide strategic leadership and have a key governance role contributing to DairyNZ priorities and objectives.
To choose which farmers get your vote, keep an eye out for the DairyNZ vote packs being sent to levy payers on Monday, September 25.

Proposed changes for rules 31 and 32
Proposed rule changes would introduce director terms of three years (currently four years) and annual director elections. This rule change will provide greater opportunity for new and fresh leadership on the board.
Approval of director remuneration
The Directors Remuneration Committee regularly reviews and recommends changes to directors’ payments and other benefits to ensure payments are at an appropriate level and effectively managed.
The payments and benefits recommended is put to levy payers as part of the AGM.
Ratification of board-appointed directors
Directors Barry Harris and Peter Schuyt are to be re-appointed to the board and require ratification.
Directors Remuneration Committee member
This year dairy farmer Chris Lewis retires from the committee. No nominations were received for this position. The DairyNZ Board will determine how this vacancy will be filled.
