Step 1 - Getting started with a farm business description
You’ll need to complete a ‘physical questionnaire' to provide background information about your business. The form needs to be updated each year – around March to June is best.
If you are new to DairyBase download the questionnaire here.
If you have filled this form in before, login to DairyBase and select ‘pre-printed forms’ for the year to be analysed. You’ll only need to update the form with this year’s data.

Step 2 - Time to analyse the farm business
For a detailed analysis to take place more specific information will need to be collected. This could include financial information, physical detail, and environmental information depending on what you want analysed. A Farm Physical Questionnaire and/or an Environmental Detail Questionnaire will need to be completed.
To make it easier, you can record information throughout the year with a DairyBase Physical Recording Workbook. There is an accompanying calendar which can be posted at the farm dairy. For the accountant/consultant who supports you, there is a spreadsheet which allows data entry into DairyBase to be quickly achieved.
Meanwhile, the resource list is a summary of suggested documents needed to collect the physical detail data.
