Sarah grew up on a cropping and beef / pig finishing farm in the Iowa in the United States. In high school she started relief milking cows and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree at Iowa State University. Sarah immigrated to New Zealand upon graduation and worked on farm in Canterbury for 3.5 years. Her background also includes experience as a research technician and technical sales.
For the last eight years Sarah has worked for DairyNZ in both Otorohanga / King Country and the Top of the South Island as a Consulting Officer and has led a project focusing on improving heifer growth management in New Zealand farm systems. She loves any opportunity to further delve into farm systems or understand New Zealand’s microclimates and how they influence farmer’s decision making.
