Alana started with DairyNZ in 2019 and is the Consulting Office for North Otago based out of the Timaru Office.
Originally from the far north of NZ, she moved to the South Island after an extensive career as an international tour guide.
Prior to DairyNZ, Alana worked as an Environmental Officer with the Otago Regional Council, where she was the point of contact for farmers and regional environmental rules. She was also contract milking 550 cows with her partner at the time in Kaitangata.
Alana has managed dairy farms throughout Southland but has never got used to the cold! She loves the dairy industry and the people within it.
She has completed a Master’s of Science in Environmental Science and Management from the University of Auckland and a Masters of Science Communication (distinction) from the University of Otago, and is passionate about working with farmers towards their environmental goals.
In her spare time, Alana pursues her passions including spearfishing, land-based fishing, big game fishing and diving.
