Starting as a Consulting Officer based in Rotorua in early 2010, Sharon became Regional Leader for BOP the following year.
With a with a B.Agr.Sc (Hons) from Massey University, she initially worked as a Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries agricultural consultant in the Central Plateau area of the North Island.
The intervening years have been many and varied, including farming, raising four children, tutoring agriculture, and consulting.
As a Nuffield Scholar in 2015, Sharon took her interest in the interface between farming, the environment and transformation, and explored the wider topic of “Navigating constraints: Primary producers coping in changing contexts.”
With her 4 children now living away from home, she has been able to reorient from centering activities around the kids rowing, to getting out in a rowing skiff herself with other master rowers from Rotorua.
