The He Waka Eke Noa partnership is our industry’s best opportunity to design a sustainable alternative to the NZ ETS, for farmers and growers to report, manage and reduce their agricultural emissions.
Why are DairyNZ part of the partnership?
Within the partnership, DairyNZ ensures the interests of the dairy sector are represented, and a fair and credible solution is developed. If we did not take up this opportunity to design an alternative pricing framework with other industry partners, and help meet legislative milestones, the Government reserves the right to price agricultural emissions from your farms through the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme earlier than 2025.
New Zealand's dairy industry commits to playing its part to reducing greenhouse gas emissions alongside the rest of New Zealand in a fair and sustainable manner.
Download the draft He Waka Eke Noa engagement document released by the partnership. The final version will be available in January 2022 ahead of February roadshows.
Talking Dairy Podcast
