The campaign launched with a stunning variety of stories, research and pictures on how people connect with their waterways. We have a positive outlook for the future of our waterways, and acknowledge dairy has a big part to play in the challenge.
During our 2018/2019 summer, Kiwis celebrated their favourite swimming spots in The Hits radio competition 'Clear Favourite'. Over a thousand-people entered photos of New Zealand’s waterways, with the public deciding the winner by voting online.
While Kiwis were out and about enjoying the water, we shared some helpful hints and tips on how they could do their bit to keep our waters clean. Check them out here.

Pledging to protect our waterways
In the lead up to World Water Day 2019, The Vision is Clear launched the ‘Pledge and Win’ competition which asked Kiwis to think about something positive they can do for our waterways.
Hundreds of ideas were shared over Facebook and Instagram, with people promising to clean-up rubbish around beaches and lakes, plant trees, restore wetlands, use re-useable water bottles and coffee cups, wash cars on the grass, clean-up cigarette butts before they enter drains, use safe for water cleaning products and many more!
The winner was Nadia Clarke from Rotorua who shared a photo of her Lake Rotorua clean-up effort and pledged to keep it up!
