Oxford Discussion Group - November

Waimakariri is a 924-cow farm (311 ha) that is part of the Ngai Tahu farming group and is in its sixth season since conversion.

The farm is managed by Brendon Walker, who is in his first season on this farm but has been working within Ngai Tahu for 3 seasons.

  • How are farms progressing with mating, being a couple weeks into the mating period? How are people managing pasture growth at the moment?
  • How do people find and retain staff? How do we build strong team cultures in teams?
  • How are people planning to be resilient for summer, if there are water restrictions? Are people using summer crops?

Protect our industry - please arrive with clean boots to reduce the risk of spreading a disease, pest or weed.
