In partnership with Federated Farmers of New Zealand and DairyNZ, this Contract Milking course will cover:

• How a contract works, including obligations and responsibilities for both parties.
• Assessing the financial viability of a contract milking or VOSM position.
• What can trip you up as a contract milker.
• How to assess different contract milking opportunities and make good decisions.
• Understanding the value of independent advice when negotiating a contract and being self-employed.
• How to assess issues and risks and how to manage and mitigate them.

This free course is suitable for assistant managers and managers who intend to go contract milking within the next 18 months. The course includes four in-person workshops held between milkings on 6 October, 20 October, 3 November and 17 November or eight online workshops, in daytime or evening.
