Why Attend?

Waikato farmers John Hayward and Susan O'Regan have set out with a bold ambition. John believes in looking beyond what you can see and leading from the front. Join us on farm with John and Susan who will share their proactive approach to what farming sustainably looks like, where profitability and biodiversity connect.

Across their 240-hectare farm, 11 wetlands have been regenerated, waterways have been fenced and riparian strips planted. Native forest has also been reestablished. In 2016, John and Susan won the Waikato Ballance Farm Environment Awards.

Hear from DairyNZ principal freshwater scientist Craig Depree on the health of the waterways, environment DNA sampling on this farm, and the transformational importance of the ‘science of shade’. We will also hear from Johan Van Ras, DairyNZ Environment Specialist, on the restorative actions you can take on farm for improved water quality.

All are warmly welcome.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Protect our industry - please arrive with clean boots to prevent the spread of disease, pest or weed.
