The aim of this session will be to look at setting up for summer management:

  • Where does nitrogen fertiliser sit within our systems?
  • What is our Nitrogen policy and cost of application? Along side understanding pasture quality and residual management.
  • How and why does pasture quality vary through the season and what can we do to manage the impact on milk production?
  • We will delve into pasture nutrition and use of supplements.
  • How to determine how much supplement to feed, the cost of supplements, utilisation, and stage of lactation feeding.

These sessions will be interactive and you are encouraged to bring with you your pasture growth rate data, feed wedges and budgets where available
