What’s in the new version of Farm Gauge?
You can now
- Record and view past assessments
- Access your assessments from any device
- Sort results by what is the priority for you
- Export assessments in PDF format
Why do I need to sign-in?
Signing-in allows you to access Farm Gauge from any device and record multiple assessments.
How do I access my results if I want to come back to it later?
You’ll be able to view all of your previous assessments when you visit Farm Gauge and are signed-in to the DairyNZ website.
More than one person from our farm business wants to complete Farm Gauge – is this possible?
Yes. Anyone is able to take Farm Gauge if they sign-up and are signed-in. This is a great tool for business partners, farm stakeholders and advisors to assess the farm business and discuss opportunities.
Can I share my results?
You can export your results to PDF for sharing in two ways. Individual reports (e.g. Feed, Strategy, Herd) can be exported from the report page of each section. Or you can export a set of assessment results by clicking “Download combined PDF” from the Farm Gauge home page.
How do I change the order of my actions?
You can change the order to suit you by clicking and dragging. Once you’re happy with the order you must click the “Save” button.
If I click on “Print report” what will happen?
You will see a prompt to print your Farm Gauge with all the actions expanded automatically and in the order that you chose them to be sorted.
Who can see my results?
DairyNZ staff will only be able to see you have completed Farm Gauge but they will not have access to your dashboard or results graphs unless you request ongoing support or choose to share your results with them.
In the background, DairyNZ will be aggregating (with no individual farm identifiers) the results for each region to help develop research, and activity that meets farmers needs across the country.
We will not be monitoring or passing on the data to any external parties.
Follow up – what will happen when I tick this?
If you request follow-up someone in our team will contact you within a week to find out more about the type of support you need. We’ll make sure your request is handled by the right person whether that be in using the tool or helping you in one of the topic areas you want to focus on.
How often should I complete Farm Gauge?
At least annually. This will allow you to measure progress and tailor your plan, depending on what you have achieved. We’ll also follow up with an email a year after you have completed it, as a reminder.
If DairyNZ make any updates to this tool how will I know?
No fundamental updates will be made until July 2020. If we make changes we will let you know via email.
