DairyNZ is inviting farmers to see some of their levy in action on its Waikato research farms as part of the Annual Meeting proceedings this year.

DairyNZ chair Tracy Brown says farmers have told us they appreciate greater access to DairyNZ science and solutions, and a clear view of where their levy is invested.

“These farms are assets to the sector, and we want farmers to see how hard we’re working on their behalf, while also providing a clear update on our operations and financials,” says Tracy.

Dairy farmers are now being asked to share their views on key resolutions, the outcomes of which will be shared at DairyNZ’s annual meeting in Hamilton on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

This year, members are being asked to consider two key resolutions - the ratification of board-appointed independent director, Mark Todd, and the remuneration of DairyNZ directors.

“Independent directors are a valuable part of our governance structure. They complement the skills of farmer-elected directors while bringing fresh perspectives from outside the dairy sector. Mark’s broad governance experience makes us stronger as a Board, and we want that to continue.”

Mark Todd has served on the DairyNZ Board since 2022, and his re-appointment for another term requires member ratification. Members can also approve the remuneration of DairyNZ Inc directors, following recommendations from the independent Directors Remuneration Committee.

This year, as two nominated candidates were received for the DairyNZ Board of Director election with two vacancies, Tracy Brown and Chris Lewis were re-appointed unopposed as DairyNZ Inc Directors. Similarly, Shirley Trumper and Ellen Bartlett were re-appointed unopposed as Directors’ Remuneration Committee members.

Farmers are also being asked to provide feedback on a proposed amendment to the Biosecurity Response Levy. This would allow reserve funds from the M. bovis response to be used for biosecurity readiness activities, as well as response in the future.

All levy payers can have their say on the proposed Biosecurity Response Levy changes, while only Members of DairyNZ Inc can vote on the Annual Meeting resolutions.
