School: Timaru Boys’ High School
Tertiary: Lincoln University, Year 4, 2021
Degree: Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honours)
Growing up on a lifestyle block I found the agricultural sector calling me after studying agricultural science at Timaru Boys' High School. The dairy sector has a unique and inspiring story and has contributed significantly to the economic stability and success of New Zealand’s agriculture sector.
Heading into my final year at Lincoln, my passion lies within the area of plant science and crop management. I am undertaking an honours project within plant science, and I am excited for the opportunities in the year ahead.
The DairyNZ scholarship has been invaluable throughout my time at Lincoln. An excellent mentoring program, from both older scholars and Susan Stokes, has provided great support and advice over the past 3 years. The networking opportunities that have been made available through the scholarship program have been brilliant. The saying goes; ‘it is not what you know, but who you know’. The industry professionals I have been lucky enough to meet during the scholarship networking dinners over the past 3 years have been invaluable, providing contacts I will be able to draw on for advice for many years to come.
