Degree: Bachelor of Agricultural Science
My goal is to make a positive contribution to the future of dairy farming in New Zealand. I would like to gain the skills and knowledge needed to work alongside farmers to improve the sustainability of dairy farming in New Zealand. While doing this I hope to give people an insight into what is being done by farmers on farm to help tackle the current challenges being faced by the industry.
Growing upon the shores of Lake Wairarapa, I spent time working alongside my father on our dairy farm and relief milking on a neighbouring farm. Through these opportunities I began to realise the complexity of the agriculture sector and the issues associated with farming practices around the country.
Wanting to be involved in finding new solutions to environmental and climatic change challenges has led me to study agricultural science at Massey University. Through this degree I will gain skills and knowledge that will help me to transition into a career that will support New Zealand farmers to sustainably produce quality products while remaining profitable.
