I have been surrounded by dairy darms my whole life and have always loved cows.
Raised on a dairy farm, I am extremely connected to the farming sector and love every aspect of it. Everyday farm tasks are second-nature to me, including milking, calving, in-shed systems, animal welfare, feed, fertiliser and sustainability.
The love I have for farming is my motivator for completing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science. Every aspect about farming excites me, which is why I want to advance my knowledge within the science of farming.
After completing my Agricultural Science degree, I plan to get a job that can put my learning into practice, as well as challenging me and growing my skill set. I have a strong interest in genetics and soil science, topics I will potentially specialise in. Ideally, I want to be a person who can have a positive influence on farmers and propose innovative and beneficial ideas to farming communities.
I am privileged to live in New Zealand, where the farming sector is world renown. Getting involved in the dairy industry where there are so many opportunities really excites me.
