About the events
You probably know your farm business numbers inside out – but how well do you know your health and wellbeing numbers?
The Health PitStop is a short assessment that provides you with an immediate “snapshot” of your health, and if necessary a referral to your local General Practitioner. A nurse will measure your height, weight, blood pressure, non-fasting blood cholesterol and blood glucose, and a take you through a short questionnaire. The whole process is designed to take less than 10 minutes to complete.
DairyNZ holds Health Pitstops at Farmsource stores around the country. You don’t even need to make an appointment.
Data collected from previous Health Pitstops found that one in every five farmer’s health and wellbeing is at extreme risk.
25 percent of farmers are not getting enough rest and 70 percent of farmers have a waistband circumference which indicates they are overweight. Find out more on the Wellbeing dashboard page.
Even if you don’t need a health check, maybe your partner or friend does. Encourage them to take the opportunity to check on their wellbeing.
