For Brooke, supporting farmers is about much more than farming systems. It's about people, whānau and the future of the whenua.

With around 15 years' experience across dairy farming, rural retail, whenua development and advisory roles, she works alongside Māori farmers, trusts, incorporations and landowners to help them access the right information, connections and support to achieve their goals.

"I enjoy working in spaces where relationships, practical support and long-term goals come together," Brooke says. "A big part of my role is listening first, understanding what matters to each farmer or entity, and helping identify the next steps."

Working closely with iwi, Māori land entities, trusts, whānau and rural professionals, Brooke helps ensure farmers receive coordinated support that reflects both their farming objectives and their wider aspirations for their whenua. She understands the unique considerations that can come with succession, governance, collective ownership, intergenerational aspirations, and balancing commercial outcomes with cultural values.

"Having someone who understands both the dairy sector and kaupapa Māori can help build confidence, strengthen relationships and make support easier to access," she says.

For Brooke, one of the most rewarding parts of the role is seeing Māori farmers and landowners feel heard, supported and confident in their decision-making.

"We're here to walk alongside farmers and landowners, not tell them what to do. We take the time to listen, understand what matters to you, and help connect you with support that's right for your farm, your whenua and your aspirations."

As a mum of two tamariki and a lifelong learner who is completing a major in international agribusiness, Brooke is motivated by creating positive outcomes for future generations.

"We need your voices and your ideas to help leave the whenua in a better place than we received it.
