MSc
Christophe specialises in water quality, with expertise in hydrology, geospatial analysis, and software development.
He is focused on creating tools to support farmers and catchment groups in understanding their land’s environmental state and opportunities. Christophe joined DairyNZ in 2017 and has contributed to many innovative projects, including FarmAPT, which provides environmental context in farm environment plans along with recommended mitigations. He has also developed different methodologies to identify critical source areas and map edge-of-field opportunities.
Christophe brings a wide range of skills to projects. “I have a wide skill set,” he says. “When it comes to delivering software products or dashboards, I know where to get the data, how to process and automate it, the science behind it, how to build interfaces, and how to keep them running smoothly. I enjoy the creativity - combining different datasets to extract actionable insights and sharing these with farmers.”
His background is in hydroinformatics. Christophe completed a Bachelor of Science in bioengineering at Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, followed by a Master of Science in hydroinformatics and water management. This was completed through a number of international universities: Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary; Newcastle University in the United Kingdom; and the Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis in France.
