Breeding worth traits change to reflect increase in value of fat
In September, NZAEL finalised the weighting factors that will be used to calculate breeding worth in 2019. Because of a sizable shift in the value of fat, Breeding Worth 2019 is being published early for all AE-enrolled sires, to give farmers advance insights into which bulls can add the most value to their breeding programme, in a market where fat is a high value component.
