Job description: I have been awarded a DairyNZ Masters Scholarship to undertake a Master of Agriculture at Lincoln University. This scholarship allows me to undertake this study with the end goal of presenting a thesis that investigates the differences in 3 in 2 milking intervals, compared to once and twice a day.
DairyNZ scholarship benefits: The scholarship allows me to take away the financial pressures of studying and focus on producing the best research possible. Having been previously employed at DairyNZ as a consulting officer, it also enables me to continue my working relationship with the great team at DairyNZ, along with developing a working relationship with others I haven’t worked with previously. It’s also exposed me to the larger projects and how they are put together and structured within DairyNZ as well.
Future plans: Once I’ve completed my Masters in 2021, I hope I will be able to continue working within the team at DairyNZ in the flexible milking space, to keep expanding my knowledge in this area, as well as helping to pass it on to farmers. And perhaps a small holiday!
