DairyNZ is excited to connect and engage with farmers at the upcoming Fieldays, where we will be highlighting our focus on progressing a positive future for farmers.
We will be sharing information on some of our recent and ongoing science and research projects, which are there to support farmers long-term, plus a whole lot more.

What we’re bringing
- Our expert team will be on the stand to answer your questions, including an opportunity to talk with some of our scientists, board members and leadership team.
- Come and see some of our popular innovations from the Reducing Sprains and Strains project which were co-designed with farmers. This includes the Easy-Entry Calf Trailer Gate, Easy-Access Calf Pen Gate and Milk Bucket Trolley prototypes.
- Our DairyBase programme will also be celebrating their 20th anniversary, with the team ready to show how they can support farmers through their online platform and discuss where a farmer may sit on regional benchmarking graphs.
- You can also learn more about how to enhance waterways on your farm. This includes the benefits of adopting a holistic approach to waterways, supporting biodiversity, and looking at the positive drivers of waterway health.
- A range of DairyNZ’s tools, resources and fact sheets will be available, including information on improving milking efficiencies, pasture management and genetic gain.
Bring the kids on Saturday (15 June)
- Bring the kids along to meet dairy farmer and author Rachel Numan, who will be reading her Tractor Dave books on site in the morning.
- Go in the draw to win one Tractor Dave set at each of the three book readings at 10am, 10:30am and 11am.
Exciting opportunities to win!
On site, we have some exciting opportunities for farmers to get involved and go in the draw to win some prizes.
If you sign up to DairyBase at Fieldays and complete the Level 1 questionnaire, you'll go in the draw to win a 20-year-old bottle of scotch whisky as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. Already registered with DairyBase? Just visit us at the DairyNZ stand to go in the draw.
You can also go in the draw to win one of two eDNA kits, with a DairyNZ team member able to come to your farm and help do the kit and analysis. The eDNA kits are a simple way to find out what’s living in your waterway and gain an indication of its overall health.
